27. The Railway Magazine
1950-1959.
Volumes 96-105 bound in ten annual books. Medium octavo format, about 800-850
pages per volume with current and historical articles, countless photographs,
maps, news, letters, etc. Each volume has an index. Binding is by Chew Valley
in dark red with gilt titling on spines and front boards, almost identical to
the official binding. This style of binding can also be repeated for earlier
and later volumes. One of the best period for Railway Magazine, covering the
later days of steam and early period of modern traction, and just before the
1960s contraction of the British railway network. Price: £240
28. The Railway Magazine 1942-1949.
A little bound run of the eight wartime and post-war series when the magazine
was published every other month. Medium octavo format, about 385 pages per volume
with photo illustrations and indexes.. Bound in the publishers red cloth with
gilt titles on spine and front boards. Condition very good throughout. Price:

30. The Railway Magazine 1932-1934
Volumes 70-75 inclusive. A short bound run of 6 half year volumes. Large octavo
format, about 450 pages per volume. With indexes, frontispiece plates and many
photo illustrations. Neatly bound in non-repeatable red cloth, gilt titling
on spines, contents clean and tight. Price: £100
31. The Railway Magazine 1923-1983
A very fine single-owner run of volumes 52-129 inclusive, all in publisher's
official bindings. Seventy-eight volumes, 1923-39 bound half yearly, the rest
in annual volumes. Format is octavo to 1963, then medium quarto. Page count
varies, must be over 45,000 in total. Red cloth with gilt titles to spines and
front boards. With innumerable photo illustrations, index to each volume. Exceptionally
good condition, cloth unfaded, clean and tight within. Price: £1900
